Drew Easterbrook enjoys his new location in the Arlington Building at 102-115 Hurontario Street in downtown Collingwood
Drew Easterbrook is right at home at his new downtown Collingwood location, sharing space with Barb MacLeod of ArtSpark. "I dont' know another location in town where we could do this" Easterbrook said. The two totally different companies work side-by-side on the main level of the Arlington Building.
While Drew's business is real estate, he has a solid background in art. "I spent twenty years in the art business in Toronto. We had a gallery in College Park, and then at the corner of King and John" Drew said.
Easterbrook has always enjoyed being in sales. "I got into the real estate business on January 1st, 1998" he said. He then started Blue Mountain Real Estate and Rentals Inc. about six years ago. "An opportunity came along to start this, and I felt it was time. Never say 'no' to an opportunity" Drew said with a smile.
Drew says he enjoys meeting people the most. "It's a real challenge, real estate, but going out with people and looking at properties ... I don't consider that to be work" he said. "You're seeing a lot of different types of people coming into the area. It used to be a weekend thing thirty years ago, but now, it's year-round, and the summer market has grown extensively" he added. Drew says more families are moving to the area now. "If you're over 50, you're visualizing your recreation property as an eventual retirement property as well" Drew said.
Drew works with an associate in the downtown Collingwood office who specializes in farming and country properties. "He can pick up the phone and talk about the history of farming, the neighbours, the former neighbours and talk about land usage better than anyone I have ever run into" Drew said. Drew says that he finds himself spending a lot of time working in the condominium market.
Drew said the Collingwood area still has lots of growth potential. "It has only just started" he said. "Come to me with a $200,000 budget and I'll find you a nice house in Collingwood" Drew added. We deal extensively with rentals as well. If you're going to do rentals, you can't pick and choose. I have to do all of them. I made a commitment to more than just real estate. I do residential property management too" Drew said, adding that he has clients that live in Africa who he represents here by looking after all of their rental property needs. "There is no property management company that I'm aware of that has had a comittment to the owner for the duration like I do. I'm the true property management company" he said.
You have to like Drew's "go big or go home" attitude. And home for Drew, is Collingwood. He likes it that way and wants to share the four season lifestyle with future clients.
