The Collingwood Downtown streets are showing off some extra spring colour thanks to the efforts of volunteers, merchants and the construction team that is working to put the finishing touches to the downtown revitalization.
The concept to take the construction theme into the design room at Smart's Flowers was the idea of Polly Taylor of Three Peas in a Pod in downtown Collingwood. BIA volunteers worked with Rick and Susan Lloyd and their family members from Smart's Flowers to create the arrangements that now hang on buildings throughout the downtown heritage district.
The BIA would like to extend a bit "thank you" to the downtown streetscape contractor, Georgian Paving & Construction, for donating all of the orange construction cones that now serve as the flower arrangment baskets, and for donating the construction fencing that has been worked into the design of the downtown arrangements. Once the baskets were completed, Paulette Gateson of Three Herons Antiques and Home Furnishings worked with downtown businesses to install the spring arrangements.
